FEEL THE PLANET PT. I

environmentally concerned, this project SEEKS to REVEAL the DEEP connection between HUMANITY AND the world we INHABIT — a world SO often takeN for granted while we REMAIN ABSORBED in our own individual PURSUITS.

OVER THE SPAN OF A year, I EXPLORED different ways OF TRANSLATING this idea, SEARCHING FOR THE FORM with the GREATEST impact. This first CHAPTER PRESENTS A SERIES of studio-based self-portraits, WHERE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES ARE RECREATED DIRECTLY ON MY FACE IN A SYMBOLIC AND CONCEPTUAL MANNER. each WORK IS ACCOMPANIED BY A POEM, OFFERING A PARALLEL LAYER OF REFLECTION AND EMOTION.

Feel the planet SPEAKS IN IMAGES AND METAPHORS, CARRYING A MESSAGE THAT MUST BE FELT AS WELL AS SEEN.

you walk over me, you use me. from the beginning, i served you.

now i’m drying, i’m thirsty, i’m losing my strengTH, i can’t help you anymore.

hear my call, i need your help, i need you to respect me, take care of me and once again, i’ll take care of you

For the climate , I was balance. From the heat, I was protection. For every living being, I was life.

It’s too polluted now, It’s too warm. I’m trying, But I can’t anymore.

I’m crying my ice out, I’m melting, I’m drowning… I’m disappearing.

for the oxygen i was creator. i made you breathE, i gave you life.

for your needs, i provided. for your pleasure, you abused me.

you are cutting me, now our land is naked. preserve me, and i’ll preserve you.

i’m fire, i’m dangerous. i kill, i destroy.

but i don’t act alone, you use me, you provoke me.

what i burn, what i kill, what i destroy, it’s on your hands too.

it’s strangling me, it’s suffocating me, it’s poisoning me, it’s covering me.

i’m drinking it, i’m eating it, i’m breathing it, i’m producing it.

who am i? i’m egoist, i’m indifferent, i’m suicidal.
