nature’s x-ray

each of us survives thanks to our vital organs. all of us breathe thanks to nature.

this mini-series begins with this simple idea. taken in a park in york, the original photographs were ordinary views of reality. by inverting the colours, they transformed into something else: a metaphorical x-ray of nature.

one image now reveals a chaotic composition, reminiscent of dna structure. the other shows the planet’s lungs: a tree glowing inside the ruins of a cathedral, its branches spreading like vital organs through the stone windows. here, nature is the true architecture — the structure that sustains all others.

we cannot breathe tHROUGh grey cement, we breathe throuGh green leaves.
